Colds and flu.posted on 28 September 2011 | posted in GeneralI have had a cold recently and I regrettably have had to cancel seeing my clients. Not only did I not want to spread the virus but I could also compromise my clients health, especially the ladies that are pregnant, stressing their already weakened immune system. Many people feel that when they have a cold or flu, a massage would be a good remedy to try and help them feel better. Sadly, this is not a good idea. When you receieve a massage, the chemicals and various toxins that have been stored in the muscular tissue are released into the blood stream and the lymphatic system. The body needs to work hard to purify the blood and lymph, adding further stress to the already compromised body. I always recommend to drink plenty of water after the massage to help the body flush out the toxins. I would recommend to have a massage once you are over the virus and feeling well again.
